National Night Out Blog

On August 26th Warwick held their National Night out event. To Kick off the National Night Out Ceremonies on August 26th, Mayor Avedisian and Council Woman Donna Travis thanked everyone for coming out to the event. It was suppose to be held on August 4th but was rescheduled due to the storm.

At National Night out there were many different groups/organizations that had tables set up such as The Greater Warwick Lions Club, Buttonwoods Crime Watch, Citizen’s Police Alumni Group, and the Oakland Beach Crime Watch and many more.  Some of the groups that were present were 211, American Red Cross, Gloria Gemma Foundation, and the Warwick Emergency Management Agency Mobile Command Center.

For children there were a few fun activities for them such, as the Warwick Fire Department ‘s Fire Safety House, Bounce House, and The Slide.  During the night there were three demonstrations put on, one was by the Warwick Fire Department showing people how they get to people when they are trapped. The Warwick Police ran two demonstrations one was the ATV Demo and K-9 demonstration by Officer Steere –K-9 Viking and Officer Wells K-9 Fox.
